when i was walking home from the movies today i saw this dad rollerblading with his kids while they were on bikes. the best part wasn't that the dad was in full safety mode - helmet, knee and elbow pads and wrist guards - no, the best part was that there were sprinklers going off in the grass patches of the building they were standing outside of and while the kids ran amuk in the water, the dad also was bent down to get a face full of sprinkler. when i walked past, he looked rather sheepish, but i told him they all had the right idea. you have to applaud a man who will do that for his kids. it was great.

saw wedding crashers - funny stuff and a perfect way to spend an otherwise idle afternoon. there was a very mixed crowd at the theater - your usual groupings of teens/early 20s but with 2 couples who were in their 70s. complete with walkers and canes. i guess even old people need boobies.

i was very pleased that my auto loan was approved today - i apparently have A+ credit so i got the good finance rate! yay! my car, the boat, decided last week that while i was driving down the highway to snap the left rear tire support (the metal braces that keeps your rear tires from turning - only the front tires are supposed to move), causing me to lose control of my car. i didn't hit anyone miraculously but the incident has made me deathly afraid of driving my car any further than the grocery store down the road. even then every time i hit a pot hole i think i'm going to veer wildly out of control. so as soon as josh gets back into town (yay tomorrow night!), i'm dragging him to the nearest honda dealership so i can get my CRV. yippee!

good times. also cleaned the bathroom and kitchen today so my apartment is almost clean - just need to vaccuum and it'll be all good. and i'm getting my hair cut tomorrow so it'll look all cute for when josh arrives. another yippee!
