so, after this morning, i have 4 movies at the top of my to-see list:

brokeback mountain
good night and good luck
capote
munich

i don't know a previous year where i've been this bad about seeing things. the only reason i saw crash was because josh and i went out on the opening weekend, a long long time ago.

off to the movies....

i just want to say i hate blue cross. hate. there really is no other word to describe how i feel. maybe loathe. for the umpteenth time, they've raised my rate with no explanation. when i tried to call tonight, i was told the wait time is 100 MINUTES. now, really, it takes over AN HOUR AND A HALF for someone to answer my call at 10 pm???????????

hate hate hate hate them.

and no, i've decided not to wait...i'll just try in the morning.
i got direct tv installed today. i'm rather excited, since it's the first time i've been able to afford cable on my own - college didn't count since we got it for free somehow. but it's nice to be able to a) watch more than 5 channels, and b) actually be able to see the image without snow and static. yes, it just means that while i'm unemployed i'll probably watch even more tv, since i'm getting HBO and a cazillion other movie channels on special. and it also probably means i'll watch a lot of crap since cable isn't known for it's brilliance in programming. but i feel a little more grown up.

now i just need a job damnit.

josh comes home tomorrow for about 20 hours before he leaves for a job in vegas, so it'll be nice to see him for a moment. can't complain because he's working though. grrr.

one of the things i would like to do in the new year is actually post every day, or almost every day, since exciting things don't always happen or other circumstances occur. nothing really exciting has happened today other than i actually ran - another thing i wanted to start doing more in the new year. to actually get in shape, that is the goal. i ran most of last week but then the winds came and kicked up all the dust and pollen so my head didn't really feel like running. grr. but hopefully i can stick to it this time.

i went to ikea today to look for shelves and a coffee table. i always have high hopes for ikea, with their cheap prices and nice designs. but i guess what comes with cheap prices is cheap products. the catalog always looks so nice but in the store, not so much. the finishes aren't quite right and there are all the holes on the inside from the adjustable shelves. i guess i should just accept it for what it is and enjoy the baskets i bought there to hold josh's game cube. but i want cheap shelves damn it.

time to read the bridal magazines my mom sent me...i had a feeling she would and lo and behold, today in the mail came a box with them in it. it probably cost her triple to actually send them what the magazines cost but i really do appreciate the thought.

Josh and I went up to Yosemite to snowshoe a couple of weekends ago at the invitation of his friends Evan and Amanda. We were joined by their friends Sam and Kerry Soo. I've never done anything like this before - we hiked 3 miles roundtrip the first day to a grove of redwoods in Merced Grove and 7 miles roundtrip to Dewey Point on Sunday. It was completely amazing and we could not have gotten better weather for the weekend. Fresh snow on Saturday and clear skies on Sunday.

NEWS!

This is a little belated and I can't remember anymore who I've told but I just wanted to announce that...

Josh and I got engaged!

He asked me on January 10 over lunch, which was the same meal that he made on our first date. I cried and of course said yes.

We have no idea where or when it'll happen but I'll keep y'all updated.

ps - all we know is that we want these people to do the decorations...haha...um, no.

So I changed the template to something I think is easier to read and I've added some links to the side. I'll actually update probably tomorrow - I'm just all tech-ed out right now. There's a lot going on so be prepared! I guess that's what happens when I wait 7 weeks...yeesh.
